Orientation Training of the School of Physical Education and Sport
We had orientation meetings with our students who have been enrolled to BESYO for the academic year 2018-2019, between September 24 and 28, separately for each department.
Researchers, Director of the department, deputy directors and the director of the relating department participated to the meeting. After a short introduction, Director of the School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Zahit Serarslan talked to brief our students.
Subjects for which our students are briefed and punctuated during the meeting are as follows:
Physical facilities of our school and university.
Accreditation and program contents
Double Major
Minors
Erasmus
Student Clubs
Pass system, discipline and cheating issues
Preferring and electing the department
Target, vision and career plans of the student
Partnership emphasis and student satisfaction
Moreover, reminding that the target of higher education is not only training professionals but also is educating scientists; it is emphasized that there are serious problems concerning this aspect and replies for below questions are sought:
What is Science?
Why scientific studies are conducted?
Is there a relation between scientific study and development and growth?
Is there a relation between scientific study and international power?
Is there a relation between scientific study and ethics and moral?
What are our students and graduates expected within the scope of these questions?
Then, the questions of our students are replied by the persons in charge of the subjects.
