'Football for Friendship' is a tournament that has participants from over 200 countries and has been breaking records. The Football for Friendship e-World Championship (eF4F) has qualified to be included in the Guinness Book of Records due to its increasing number of participants.
The 32 international teams participating in this year's championship have been announced. Young players from 211 countries competed between 27-29 May to win the championship title.
The tournament teams were drawn in an online ceremony on April 25th (International Football and Friendship Day). The draws were conducted by young ambassadors of the project, including Ananya Kamboj from India, Yusuf Moazzam from Pakistan, Sheqayli Ascencion from Aruba, and Alinur Gabidenuiy from Kazakhstan. The 32 international teams were divided into eight groups, each named after a rare animal species, with four teams in each group.
The tournament saw participation from children aged 12-14 from over 200 countries. The event emphasized values such as equality, truth, health, peace, loyalty, and victory.
Roberto Carlos, this year's ambassador of football for friendship, expressed his honor at being given such a distinction.
