'I Wear My Mask, I Raise Awareness'
Foundation for Children with Leukemia (LÖSEV) was the guest of Istanbul Gelişim University School of Physical Education and Sports.
The Foundation for Children with Leukemia (LÖSEV), which continues to be a beacon of hope for our children suffering from leukemia, one of the most well-known types of cancer that causes millions of deaths in the world every year, was the guest of Istanbul Gelişim University School of Physical Education and Sports.
In the event organized by the Recreation Department of the School of Physical Education and Sports, specially for the Week of Children with Leukemia, November 2-8; While LÖSEV Istanbul Official Aslı Çavdar stated to our students that leukemia is a treatable disease, she noted that in the past years, there was a perception that children with leukemia who wore masks were a threat to public health, but thanks to LÖSEV's activities and information campaigns across the country, this prejudice has been broken in recent years. .
Stating that they established a private hospital for leukemia patients in the capital Ankara, together with their representatives throughout the country, and that they do not charge any fee for this, Çavdar continued his words as follows:
"With the impact of awareness activities such as 'I Wear My Mask, I Raise Awareness' or 'Help Life' held during the Week of Children with Leukemia, November 2-8, it has begun to be understood much better that children with leukemia do not carry a contagious disease and that they are one of us. All kinds of events are organized in this context "We attach importance to volunteering activities"
While the students of the Recreation Department, who organized the event, painted their masks and supported the awareness campaign, the Director of the School of Physical Education and Sports, Dr. Lecturer Member Mehmet Soyal, and Recreation Department Head Dr. Lecturer Member Engin Işık Abanoz gave a plaque to LÖSEV Official Aslı Çavdar, thanking her for her participation
