Project "I am developing and socializing step by step!"
Spastic Children’s Foundation of Turkey - Cerebral Palsy Turkey, to emphasize the positive importance of sport on individuals with Cerebral Palsy, launched the project “I am developing and socializing step by step” by the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, within the frame of Youth Projects Support Program.
Academician Dr. Kubilay Çimen from Istanbul Gelişim University, School of Physical Education and Sport (BESYO) represented our university during this project.
Children with Cerebral Palsy met athletes at “Social Adaptation” activity. Mr. Namık Ekin, Turkish World Record Holder for Guinness, Mr. Ahmet Nakkaş, World Champion and record holder of Masters Swimming, Academician Dr. Kubilay Çimen, Director of the Department of Recreation of Istanbul Gelişim University, School of Physical Education and Sport (BESYO), Dr. Ali Özüak, Board Member of Galatasaray Sport Club Swimming Branch, Mr. Koçu Kaan Özdoğru, Olympic swimmer, participated to the activity and shared their stories with participants. Children with Cerebral Palsy asked athletes questions on subjects they were wondering about.
