Our university came together with an event organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic. The "100 Stakeholders Meet at Gelişim University on the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" event was hosted by our university and brought together 100 stakeholders from many sectors.
This special event is part of a project that aims to keep the memory of our university's liberation struggle alive, build bridges from independence to the future, transfer its centuries-old history from generation to generation, and contribute to society with the unifying power of sports. These projects carried out in cooperation with the public and private sectors, aim to support students and graduates to be successful in business life.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, local governments, federations, sports clubs, private sector representatives, athletes, and the media. More than 100 Istanbul Gelişim University School of Physical Education and Sports attended this event. In addition, a team of 100 people consisting of academic staff and volunteer students contributed to the successful realization of the event.
The event was organized by the Istanbul Gelişim University School of Physical Education and Sports Deputy Director, Lecturer. See. Tekmil started with the presentation of Sezen Göksu, followed by IGU Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin and IGU School of Physical Education and Sports Director Assoc. e National Wrestler Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu and National Volleyball Player Neslihan Demir attended the panel titled "Champion Women of the Republic", and Atakaş Hatayspor Coach Volkan Demirel and NutSpor Announcer Nebil Evren participated as speakers in the panel titled "Those Who Make a Difference in Sports". "Volleyball Honor Award" was presented to Neslihan Demir, "Female Athlete of the Year Award" to Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu, and "Athlete of the Year Award" was presented to Volkan Demirel.
President of Turkish University Sports Federation Prof. Dr. Mehmet Günay, Turkish Athletics Federation President Fatih Çintimar, Turkish Special Athletes Sports Federation President Birol Aydın, Former National Athlete Merve Aydın, Başakşehir Municipality Youth and Sports Services Manager Selim Çelebi, Turkish Jockey Club Principal Board Member Gülnur Gülerce, Turkish National Paralympic Committee General Manager Secretary İbrahim Gümüşdal and Olympic Medalist Prof. Dr. Mr. Malik Beyleroğlu was given the "Those Who Add Value to Turkish Sports" Award.
