New Assignment as Director of the Department of Recreation

Academician Dr. Engin Işık Abanoz, one of our academic staff members, is assigned as the Director of the Department of Recreation. We do wish him success in his new assignment.
 
The Department of Recreation of our University’s School of Physical Education and Sport has just started a new era. We, as Istanbul Gelişim University, are aiming to present our department in the best way through new recreative projects and our curriculum with regard to our students’ needs as well as our vision.
 
I do believe that we are going to achieve our aim through our student portfolio that is of high quality with regard to the standards of Turkey. Recreation which is a very new concept even at international platforms, has a considerable presentation countrywide due to our actual and graduated students.  Our students are having job opportunities in public and private institutions, even when they are only sophomores.
 
Curriculums prepared, being aware that quality education is the key of individuals’ quality, are affecting positively our students’ post-school lives. Our efforts are to make our department a well-known institution of Turkey and of the world, due to its activities, services and sportive achievements through a system that renew itself according world standards. Without any doubt, our basic values are to be developed, without losing our institutional memory, by adding constantly on what we have already achieved.   
 
The most important advantage of our students is that Istanbul Gelişim University is a student focused institution. Moreover, School of Physical Education and Sport with its academicians, all very well equipped and specialists in their fields, shall continue to be a guarantee for our students even in the future. Our Department of Recreation made considerable developments since previous semesters and is proving valuable and devoted efforts for its accreditation process. We are working, as new management staff, to optimize our school’s education quality for the second semester of the academic year of 2018-2019. I wish success for our students and our academicians during this new academic semester.
